Improving lives

Our charity strives to improve the lives of local children less fortunate than ourselves. We provide funding for such things as learning aids, respite care or even simple basic necessities for their homes.

Funding Freedom

There are a multitude of ways that we can help a child in need, and all requests for funding are given the full consideration of our Appeals Committee.

Apply for Funding
Requests for funding must be for a child or children under 16 years of age, and residing within the BS postcoded areas. Applications by a parent or guardian must be accompanied by a letter from a doctor or social worker, medical practitioner or other professional or be accompanied by a supporting letter from them.
All you need to do is follow this link and fill in the online form. The form then goes directly to our Appeals team, where your case will be given a unique identification number. All applications are then considered by our Appeals Committee, or by our General Committee for appeals over £1,000. All successful appeals must be utilised within 6 months of being granted, otherwise they will be considered lapsed and and the funding will be withdrawn..
The whole process from submitting the application to receiving funding should take no more than one month. This is very dependant on what has been applied for, so please be patient. If you have any queries or would like to see how your appeal is progressing please email us at

THANK YOU to Paul Bell and Granville Jenkins

Every year  Granville Jenkins of J2 Catering  and Paul Bell organise a canoe race from the The Old Lock and Weir  in Hanham.  Granville and Paul very kindly donate all the proceeds from this successful event to the BUPCC. This is the most they have ever raised for us and in fact there is another £100 to be added to the final total you see on the cheque.   We’d like to say a special thank you to Andy Watkins (on the left of the picture) who is a founder of this event, and we are very grateful for your continued support and appreciate all the effort that goes into putting on an event like this, so from all of us at the BUPCC –
